So the wiring harness swap, although lengthy (3 days to figure out that the 25 amp fuse was dirty, not blown, dirty) the car finally started on Mon or Tues of this past week. It's been running strong and sounding more like a good car then has since I bought, except for the starter. On my way home from the bone yard today the car exhibit a wierd idle rnaging from 500 rpm to almost 2000 rpm and back down again, and up again etc. It finally stalled but started back up immediatly. This happened 3 or 4 times and then went away for the remaining 10 mintues of my trip home. I just replaced all of my fuses and cleaned the cotnacts today, about 20 minutes ago asa a matter of fact. I went to see how the car was running with fresh fuses and whamo, now I can't keep it running. It'll sorta start, run for half a second and die, then it takes many cranks to get it to start for a second or two before it dies again. I unplugged the AMM becasue that seemed logical and there have been so many posts on the board here saying that's the thing to check in a no start situation but that actually made things sound worse so I don't think that's the problem...but what do I know. Any suggestions? Any offers to buy it? I paid $2100- and have redone the wiring harness, shocks, bushings, tie rod ends, and put brand new tires on it. It has a cracked windshield, rusty floorboard, the clear coat is peeling, and it's missing a couple pieces of trim. The headlights are clear. What do you all think it might be worth? It's in Portland, OR
And as far as the nieghbor comment, well, I live in an apt and do minor stuff on the side of the street (and the wiring harness too). Along the street are grassy areas between the street and the sidewalk. Apparantl, some of my neighbors feel it sin't necessary to pick up after their dogs. Just added insult to injury.
Let me know what you think
