There is a point to my rambling story. Read on please.
We purchased our 98 Volvos while living in Germany in support of the US Forces. While test driving we noticed that the drivers side mirror was flat on the right side (about 3/4 of the length) and the left (outer) side was curved to allow you to see the blind spot. We were very excited about this feature. There is NO blind spot when you use these mirrors. We were a little disappointed when in recieved our car (at the factory in Sweden: Sweet!) that the US version of the vehicle comes with standard flat driver side mirror. Our salesman then told us that the demo car had to be changed to conform to German TuV standards to be registered. Hence the mirror change.
So we purchased "German style" mirrors from the dealer and haven't looked back since. A very nice feature. Now, if you're still with me, here's my question:
Are these styles of mirrors available for my 88 245? Do US dealers even sell these mirrors at all?
Anyone?
Thanks in advance,
-Chris
