94 945T Spedometer only works in reverse 900

Hello all, I was driving on the highway the other day at about 80 and my spedometer died as I was slowing down for the off ramp. I drove home and backed up into my yard where I noticed the spedometer worked, I drove it up the street and it read really slow, and then died, now it only works in reverse, it reads correctly though.

driving 12 miles home from work the odometer did move 1 10th of a mile however.

what should I be looking into? speed sensor on rear end? The only working in reverse thing has me confused.
