Front Foglight Wiring 700 1992

I've installed a set of Bosch Pilot Foglights under the bumper of my 1992 745T (have been on two non-Volvo cars of mine previously). The wiring harness was easy to install on older cars but I'm confused and really screwed up installing them on this car. The wires to the lamps are eassy. The hot lead to the batter - again easy. It's the wire which goes to the hot lead for the low beams which is obviously where I screwed up and tottally killed my battery. Everything worked but when it sat over night it drained the battery and killed it! Help!! Which of the three wires going into the headlamp bulb holder should I connect this wire to? I chose the geen one as it seemed "hot" when the low beams were on. But I think it is a "bi-polar" (if that is a correct term) wire and goes the other way when the high-beams are on or the car is off.

The other wire issue is this. There are three wires to a switch (old switch died and I bought a Volvo foglight switch). Two wires make it work and the other one appears to be only a ground or to make the indicator light work. I did not attach this third wire. Again, everything worked but I killed the battery.

My local Volvo mechanic said "forget the relay" and just wire them seperately" but I'd rather not do that. Any ideas Welcome. Remove OMIT from the e-mail listed to e-mail me.

Many Thanks, jim
