Hard Shift to first 700 1990

The FAQ is pretty good on this. I'll try Redline MTF and inspect the clutch cable for 1/8" slack first. Two things: anyone know a website selling Redline? and do you have suggestions on possible cause for this? The clutch is good, no slippage. This has developed slowly over last yr. and I can get a clean shift by doing the 2-1 shift. Think the FAQ suggestion to adjust the detente plate under rubber boot sounds drastic.
