When we left for our summer house this year, the rear end was definitely sagging. No wonder, with the trunk brimming with stuff and two teenagers in the back seat. A full tank for the seven hours drive. (The emergency high speed "S" maneuvre to avoid ramming that Italian camper ignoring the give way sign was one for the books!)
Next year we will also be dragging the new boat along. I fear I will need new mudflaps. I definitely need stiffer springs.
Will the normal rear springs for a wagon be a good solution? If so, some questions:
- Are they a direct fit?
- Will they raise the rear end when unloaded?
- Are the wagon's front springs same as the sedan's?
I automatically assume that the heavy duty wagon springs are too hard for my sedan for normal driving, but perhaps I am wrong? Apart from the summer expedition, almost all my driving is with the car empty. Shocks: Sachs Advantage (= Boge Turbo Gas). Swaybars: 23/21 mm.
