Greetings, all--
I really don't mean to post such a vague and potentially ridiculous question, but I got this car at an auction and fixed it up to sell and fund my other Volvos. It's a 1967 122s 2-door with a B-20 with a B-20f head (injector holes plugged with lead, etc.) and a Weber DGAV (converted to electric choke), M40. The motor may have an aftermarket cam, for it has a strange, loping idle and goes really REALLY fast, esp. around 3000-4000 rpm. I got it running so well it's scary--- I'm actually kind of glad the speedo cable's busted because it goes so fast on the freeway I don't WANT to know how big of a ticket I'll get. Cosmetically, the body's straight with one dent on the fender up near the headlight. It's been painted with a relitavely cheap spray job which would be fine, but it's slightly brighter than the original, dark army green as indicated by the insrument panel, etc. The front end was hit and repaired with bondo by the mysterious Previous Owner, but it's still bent; i.e., there's a gap twixt the hood and top of cowl. Looks alright, though-- just different. Great Kumho performance tires, good brakes, shiny chrome, etc. Missing the bumper fangs. There is no rust at ALL and it has a new exhaust. Interior's rough, dash shot, but everything works (now), right down to the dome light/door buttons (!). SO!! I want to sell it and pay for some other projects.
I sold one once before on eBay and did alright, $1625.00, but that was a 4-door with a b-18 and SU carbs. A lot of folks said I could have gotten more for it.
Where's a good avenue to sell this car? Should I try eBay again? I was hesitant to ask this question here because if any of you want it, you'll probably say "Oh, that thing's CRAP! Seall it for $20 to the first sucker who calls and get out of TOWN!!" but it's worth a shot. Thanks in advance!
