Ok, big problem. Hopefully someone can help. While redoing the headliner I originally removed the sunroof thinking it was the only way to get the headliner insert out of the sunroof panel. Wound up reinstalling it into the car and removing the insert while the sunroof was in the car. Problem is I broke the drivers side front nipple off the sunroof pan (attaches to drain hose in a pillar) during that whole fiasco. Due to time constraints I had to plug the hole with a ball of duct tape and silicon caulk. Thes was a temp. job untill I could fix the pan/nipple. Well, 2 weeks ago I had to leave town suddenly on business and forgot to put the car in the garage (weekend all those tornados over the east). It rained, and it leaked all over the driver's seat.
I'm thinking of using JB Weld to reattach the nipple since it doesnlt support weight. The pan/nipple are aluminum. Then coat the repair with an epoxy or silicon to ensure a watertight seal.
PLOBLEM is I didn;t get back for a week after it started to leak, and know I have mold on the seat (cloth) and on the seat back knob (good sized pores). I also assume the carpet underneath is not in good shape.
Anyone have ideas or know how to properly clean this up? Can't use bleach or Cavicid due to it being cloth.
