Hello everyone. This is my first post so I felt a few words of introduction were appropriate. My name is Eric and I live near Roanoke, VA.
I just bought my third Volvo, a 1982 245 Turbo, M46, 165,000. I've owned an early 80's 242 (can't remember the exact year, I was in high school, 16 years ago) and an 84 244. This is my first turbo. Very enjoyable.
I might should've posted that top bit elsewhere but the INTRO section of the board seems little used.
Technically, I don't have much to offer yet. My experience with the marque is limited when compared to some of you. As my relationship with the car develops, I'll share what I think might be useful. Two minor things I guess I could offer:
1) Nothing is as good as the Bentley manual but for early 240's, the older, tan colored Haynes manual (UK version) is far superior to the one currently carried at all the parts houses.
2) I replaced both harnesses in my tailgate this past weekend and found it much easier to snake the passenger side tailgate harness through the side of the gate with two of the four connectors taped down the side of the harness with two taped together at the point. It reduces the chances of hanging it up as you pull it through.
By the way, thanks to you Bricksters, I restored functionality to my rear washer pump last night. I forget who posted it, but there was a great one in the archives describing how to get that thing back up and running. Saved me a few bucks (I'll spend them on an intercooler...)
Anyway, here I am. Happy bricking to everyone.
