Anybody seen the "cabin air intake cover" that Ipd sells? It is a plastic cover that is like a scoop looking piece that clips on over the vents at the base of the windshield and keeps rain, leaves, snow etc. from ever getting into the cowl vents in the first place. If I only knew about this 8 years ago when I got my 87' wagon, maybe I wouldn't have rust damage, wet carpets and all the things that go with the vents being open to the elements. I mean think about it, the way that rain can just pour right into the louvers, it is a poor design. I beleive that the cover is actually a volvo part. Ipd has them on their website under rear wheel drive, exterior parts. I wish the cars would have all come with them from the factory, then these cars would have lasted 30 years. For those that don't know it, the water and leaves and junk that go into the cowl vents wind up in the rocker panels, and the water is supposed to drain out of the little drain holes in the rocker. For such a great, well thought out car, this design is doomed to fail. But now it is kind of like putting the cart before the horse isn't it? I am still going to get one. Check it out at: www.ipdusa.com, and if anybody out there has one, how do you like it? It has to work, I would .
