brake pedal depresses slightly easier in cold weather 700

it's about 30F outside, and i noticed that when the car has been sitting in the cold for a bit, the brake pedal can be bottomed out fairly easily. just wondering if this is a normal phenomena. the car seems to stop fine, and the braking force is very steady still. does it have something to do with the fluid being cold and not warming up or something? it goes away after driving for a while.

also, there is a very slight hiss when i brake, but i always thought this was normal. the pedal travel is very consistent with the braking force, so if there was a booster leak, i would notice a problem with braking, right?

edit: original thread was entitled "brake pedal sinks easily in cold weather". perhaps "sink" is not the appropriate word. it's more like it feels looser, it's not that it sinks and doesn't come back up. i have retitled the thread appropriately.
