Midwesterners: What type of Snows?? 200

I live in South Central Wisconsin and I am looking for some snow tires for my wifes car. She drives the 940 wagon 30 miles each way to work on interstate and primary and secondary roads. I have been looking at the Hakk1 and the HakkQ, but my question is what kind of wear will I get on a tire like this if I run on dry pavement for extended periods. Any other suggestions?, I have been dealing with meadowcreek tire, their prices seem reasonable @ $395 including mounting and balancing for the Hakk 1. (doesnt included the steel wheels).
