Brake problem 900 1995

Oh dear. My brick is sick!

I was out driving the other day, and started off in cold weather and mucho
wet snow on the roads. I thought the car was lagging a little, but assumed
it was all the snow on the road and thought nothing more of it.

Drove for about an hour. Parked for two hours. Went on my way home. After
about half an hour of driving (60mph), I feel the steering wheel shaking.
"Hmmm... didn't the shop tighten those lugnuts?" Well, no more than a minute
more passed and I thought the wheel was coming off. Pulled over and got out,
and then I smelled the burnt brakepads. And the front left rim was piping hot,
no way I could touch it.

I guess I stopped at the right time? Stood scratching my head for a few minutes
and then took off again. No more problems on the way home. When parking in the
garage the rim was as cool as it should be. After that, I have felt the brakes
hanging on the left front a couple of times.

So now I guess it's time to change the rotors, pads and service the calipers.
Rotors and pads needs changing, that I know. The calipers I haven't taken a
good look at yet, but I guess it's either the piston gaskets or the guiding pin?

Thought I'd better check with you guys, as always. Saves me a lot of time!
And I love to tell long stories :)

Regards,

Vegar Johansen
