Scan-Tech or what other Aftermarket strut bearings? 200 1983

Ok,Bricksters:
After 250K miles, the strut bearings have completely separated from the rubber mounts under the upper strut mounting bolt. Time for new ones. I've heard that Aftermarket ones (Scan-Tech)are not long lived. One new Foreign parts supplier lists 2 different strut bearings (both the same number, only followed by an "a" or an "s"). The difference in price is $27 for one number or $47 for the other. Both have a one year gaurantee. I asked the supplier what the difference was..their reply "different manufacturers". Not too enlightening.
Has anyone had good luck with ScanTech strut mount bearings?
