Hard start in cold weather???? 700 1986

Hello Brickboarders, long time since I'd had a problem......

My 760 Turbo Has been running great for bout 8 mnths now. I live in Saskatchewan , Canada. It's that time of year where the tempature starts to drop into the -20 c. mark, and I'm having some of the same grief I did last year.

Hard Starting!!!!!! Usually it'll fire over right away but instantly sounds like it's running on 2 cylinders. Then , with plenty of cranking ( too much, actually) it will eventually fire up run like shit for 10seconds then clear up...

Newish plugs, FPR, ECT, good water free gas, but still the same symptoms. Any other cold weather Volvo drivers out there got any ideas????

I've thought about a new dist. cap, frost might be building up on this older one to the point of causing misfiring, same with the Hall Sensor... I put a new rotor in and cleaned up the cap a little while ago, but who knows--the dist cap is about $ 65.00 CAN so I put it off.

It's really frustrating because this car, with 300000 Kms. on it, runs GREAT!! I've put the love into it to get it that way and 8 months of the year it treats me the same way back. This morning was a different story, and already I'm not looking forward to 4 months of wincing at 8:30 A.M.

ANY frosty thoughts would be appreciated!!!!!!! Thanks Josh.--- 86 760 B230 FT 307162 kms.
