'84 245 manual Overdrive not working 200

howdy

The overdrive on my '84 245 with manual gearbox is not working.

I believe that all the elctronics ARE working ok ... when parked, I can hear the relay & solenoid 'click' when I press the OD button in 4th gear.

Before thanksgiving weekend, I thought I had it figured out. I removed the solenoind & cleared what looked to be blocked fluid passages. I then topped off the gear box with gear oil. After that it worked fine, but only for about 100 miles on the interstate. The rest of the 1200 mile holiday drive had to be done in 4th gear - ugh?!?

Any thoughts on what I might want to do next?

Would it be worth my energy to find an OD from a junkyard & swap it ?
