Oil Pressure Question 200

Hi Gang,

According to my oil guage, I'm running low pressure. Low enough that at idle the warning idiot light comes on sometimes. Under warm engine conditions with driving the needle never goes over 1 1/2 bars.

I checked the oil and its full according to the dipstick.

I'm running 10w-30 Mobil One.

My question is this? Will it hurt anything to add another 1/2 qt. of oil to hopefully boost pressure some? I don't think it would hurt the seals if the pressure is below what is should be now.

Would running a higher viscosity oil boost pressure any?

I didn't put on a Mann oil filter when I changed the oil, would this be of any consequence?
