Pertronix installed, now tach is acting goofy 1800

Got my pertronix into my 70 1800e and after I did it my tach reads about 300 rpm higher than it really is (though I haven't tested it yet for an actual number, it is off though) and it drops out, or momentarily dies while driving around.

Any ideas?
