Strange Idle problem! 700 1986

G'day all,

In the morning when I start the car in has a rather rough idle and won't settle to a stable idle. But my concern is that when I depress the brake the idle drops to around 400 rpm and the car shakes, then it returns to normal. It's as though the extra vaccuum required by the brakes is causing the drop in rpm.
If anyone has heard of this or has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.
