Howdy Gentlemen of THE BRICKBOARD,
My '90 740T which has almost 400,000KM and has been a prety good set of wheels is showing it's age lately. I had a coolant leak which I could see it was coming from the water pump which had about 200,000KM on it. So, I replaced the pump all the hoses, clamps and thermostat. The radiator is fairly new about 60,000KM. After the work all was fine for about two weeks+ then there was a small amount of coolant on the ground after being parked overnight. I have not yet been able to determine the source. Is it possible for the turbo to cause this type of a coolant leak? The reason for my questioning the turbo is, it is the original turbo (400,000KM) and in recent times there seems to be a bit of oil in intercooler but by Volvo specs it is not excessive, about a teaspoon over six months or 25,000KM.
Has anyone have any ideas what I should do next?
Thanks as always for your excellent advice!
Frank
