As in my earlier post I tried to change the timing belt but could find absolutly no marks ao the gears anywhere. Would it be possible that before I take the old belt off, scribe marks into the ring face of the gear, aligning it with some other identifiable mark, removing the belt and installing the new belt make sure that the mark I had scribed before removing the belt were aligned? Would this work? i wouldn't scribe a mark to designate tdc but just as a reference point for myself.
