Won't start after changing master cylinder. 200 1987

I just put a new master cylinder on the car, now it will start but won't keep running. Very strange; it ran great before. The Haynes Manual says check fuel system or vacuum leakage. I pumped the brakes to bleed the system, did this effect the engine vacuum? HELP!!
