question about flame traps 200 1989

Today while checking the oil I discovered a loose hose on the manifold. Well, that is taken care of now. I decided to check the flame trap hose. I know there are two big hoses that is on either side of the flame trap: big hose (top)- flame trap - big hose (bottom). I was looking at the top big hose from the driver side and was gently yet firmly pressing down on it. I wasn't aware that this hose was part of the flame trap. I thought it might be loose and pressed on it. While pressing on it it moved, which made me think it was actually loose. But then I soon realized it was the big hose that is on top of the flame trap. Now, my question is in regards to the other big hose on the bottom of the flame trap. I think its other end connects to the oil separater. Does this hose go straight to the oil pan or is there a separate hose that coonects from the other side of the oil separater and down into the oil pan?

Okay, now going back to the pressing down on the big hose issue. Could I have dislocated or loosen the bottom big hose from the oil separater? Is the oil separater firmly attached to something or did it move as well? I didn't push hard on the top hose, but the fact that it jiggled makes me wonder what effect it had on the bottom hose.

Sorry if I'm typing in layman's terms, but I hope you guys understand my question and concern. Thanks a lot guys!
