seat heater switches 200

I have an 87 245 with a trashed parking brake console. I can't find a reasonably priced console with the seat heater switch cutouts but I can find any number of cheap brake covers without them. My question is why couldn't I relocate my switches into the blanks in the dash and use a cover without the switch mounts? Any problem doing this? Thanks in advance. Lanky
