Hittin Curbs, Check Engine Light On... Drive it or tow it?? 200 1990

I'm looking through the archives and I have my Bentley book in hand but I've decided to see if anyone had any time saving ideas.
I was cruisin my moms old 1990 240 wagon on the interstate headed to my friends house in the rain, and the damn wipers just stopped working (the motor picked a great time to go). Luckily I wasn't far from my friends house. As I was taking a turn, well trying to anyway the wheels locked up and I just went right up on the curb. Believe it or not I wasn't going fast, there must have been some oil on there becuase when I got to where I was going and told my friends about what happened I learned that my friend almost did the same thing but his car stopped before hitting anything (damn fwd), also the fact that I reclaimed my old turbo rims with some new yokohama's for my bertone and stuck my bertone wheels complete with el cheapo tires probably didn't help. Later that night someone had got in a wreck in the same damn place.. anyways back to the current situation. I didn't really hit anything to hard, only one wheel made it on to the curb, the car drove fine the few remaining blocks of my journey. Next day I replace the wiper motor and get the wipers going. Then I drove the car to a fast food place and back to my friends, no problem, but at 1am when I'm getting ready to leave, I hop in the car, start it up.

Check engine light pops up.

Lately in Austin its been rainy and it gets dark around 6pm, so I wasn't able to check a whole lot of stuff or be able to see if the car is leaking anything, the oil level was within range. Car sounds fine, but the engine light is on. What all is tied to that light that can trigger it? I'm hoping its something like the 02 sensor that mighta got banged around. But I've killed 2 volvo's by ignoring the dummy lights in the past, granted they were turbo's and are a little easier to break. My plan is to head up there with some flashlights and scope out the underside of the car, make sure nothing is leaking, etc.. but I'm not finished with my bertone yet so this is my backup car. can't have the backup car going dead, although I want to stick I mild v8 in there at some point I have to finish my bertone first.

TO SUM ALL THIS CRAP UP:

What could be triggering the light?

If its an 02 sensor I really don't care, I just need to get the car back to my house where I can get it in the garage and really look at it.
Now if that could be lit up because of low oil pressure (maybe I scraped a hole in the oil pan or something) then I don't want to risk driving it.

What kinda checks can I do to be sure that the light is being triggered by something that isn't important.

And last, would you risk driving it, or would you tow it becuase a stupid ass check engine light comes on?
Do the 90's have a seperate light for low oil pressure? (I'd run out and look at my moms car except its not here)

I figured I'd just see what everyone had to say before I go drive it off just in case I forgot about that 1 thing it might have been that you remember after you killed the car.

PS To update anyone who remebers the bertone I am stickin a v8 in:
I have been gathering all my parts for the bertone. The engine was purchased some time ago (355 mexican block, forged crank, 6" i-beam rods, forged flattop je pistons, ported double hump heads, tripple valve springs, solid custom grind nitorus cam .595 lift), 1.6 comp cams pro-mag roller rockers, NOW with an edelbrock victor jr intake with a predator carb (flows from 390-930cfm). I also got a 700r4 fully built with all b&m components and it even had a 2200-2500 stall converter but I'm probably putting a 2800-3000 stall on there. I'm still figuring out what kinda rear i'll be putting back there but once that has been decided on and I get the radiator, swaybars, ignition crap, driveshaft and all the other small things that add up to another paycheck then I'll start tearing out the old stuff. And I'll have plenty of parts that i will be needing to get rid of too. (engine, tranny, maybe the rear end too)
