73 1800ES overheating 1800

I just purchased a 73 P1800 ES automatic. The car runs hot while idling in traffic. I found in documentation an e-mail to Don Thibault from the previous owner that the radiatorhahd been rebuilt and thermostat replaced. The e-mail said that the headers were so hot that they glowed orange in the dark. Don suggests checking the water temp sensor and the Map sensor. What is the Map sensor and where can a replacement be obtained?
