Help with Radio in 1989 Volvo 240 DL 200

Hey everyone,

Recently I replaced the 712 stereo in my "new" 1989 Vovlo 240 DL. I've noticed that if i turn the car off after setting the radio presets and leave the car off for a few minutes, once I turn the car back on the presets have all be reset. In actuallity all the radio memory has been reset, the time, settings, everything.

But this is not just with this radio, it occurred when the 712 was in place also, but instead the car had to be off for a couple hours for it to reset, now it's just a few minutes.

I checked the radio fuse and that is fine. I'm almost positive it is all wired correctly, besides this issue everything else works perfectly, all the speakers function, I get good reception, etc.

The only other thing I have noticed is that the rear defroster doesn't seem to function anymore. When I push the switch it doesn't light up anymore, where before the little picture would light up. And it's not just that it doesn't light up, it doesn't seem to work at all.

Any and all your help is highly appreciated!

Trevor
