Safe boost level and MBC 700 1988

Hey guys, I am thinking of installing a manual boost gauge on a 740. I really dont want to use a aftermarket gauge though. Firstly what setup should I use, I was thinking of using a setup similar to the following:

What have people used and found a safe and reliable boost level to be. I was think roughly 10 or 11 psi. Also If the stock boost level is at the max roughly what is this psi assuming the turbo is not overboosting
