Mystery: battery drain following suspected bad jump start 900 1993

Today is the one month anniversary of my dead battery / battery drain trouble & I just received final work from yet another mechanic that there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with my car...hence, this message...

My 1993 Volvo 940 sedan, which I've driven for 8 months with no trouble, sat for a week at the airport following my first trip abroad last month. I may have bumped the mercury switch in the trunk when I was loading luggage (but I'm not sure) b/c the vehicle was dead upon my return. Two young unknowns stopped and kindly jumped the car...incorrectly, or at least, it didn't take. Then, an employee of the airport successfully jumped car. This is what followed: the ABS light came on, right headlight was blown, later learned: audio & airbag fuses were blown & my aftermarket 6-disc changer wouldn't even turn on. I had the stereo fuses checked & replaced as well as the headlight. At this time, the battery tested out fine. The car was dead two days later, so I had it hooked up to a diagnostic machine, during which both the alternator & battery checked out fine. At the suggestion of a mechanic, I replaced the battery (with a Duralast), just in case. The car was dead in the morning. I had it towed to the saab/volvo shop where they determined there was a drawn on the battery...obviously. Their solution: disconnect my after market CD player. The car started up for me for a full week, then, on the 7th day...dead. I jumped it, drove it for the weekend without trouble, then, after a cold night, it was dead again on Monday morning. It's now back at the volvo shop and they're telling me they can't find anything wrong with the car "it's been hooked up to the diagnostic machine for four days and it's not showing a problem." They're also saying it's not likely that the cause was the first jump. Could this really be coincidental?

Now, none of this makes sense to me b/c I know that there is, in fact, something drawing from the battery when the car is off. All the interior lights are off, CD changer is no longer hooked up, fuses were replaced. Could there be a circuit that is staying open overnight? If so, how in the world do I find it? Or as the case may be, find a mechanic who'll find it for me... It seems as though they do not want to hear my thoughts! Could there be a dead cell in my brand new battery from several jumps? I'd appreciate any input at this point. Thanks a million (and then some).

Jessica
