Exhaust Stud removal 900 1995

940 Non-Turbo

Hi all!

I've just discovered that one of my exhaust stud is broken (how? I don't know). The lower one that is nearest to the distributor. I've visited two mechanics who told me that the job requires the removal of the cylinder head. One of them suggested that I may as well have the cylinder overhauled.
Is the job really difficult because both mechanics quoted me something like $400 for the job.

If this is a DIY possible job can anyone tell me the procedures and the tools require?
The job is too costly and if it is at all possible, I like to do it myself even if I have to buy the tools (provided it isn't too costly).

Thanks all.
