Breather Box Questions 200

Everybody talks about the flame trap and throttle body, but seldom does anyone mention the BREATHER BOX. How often should the breather box be pulled and cleaned? What effect does it have on gas mileage, engile idle and engine power? Does the breather box ever crack, melt or "fail"? How often should it be replaced?
