Decode VIN for a '84 245 GL Wagon In NC Junk Yard? 200

OK Guys. I finally got the VIN and price on that Wagon in the junk yard...

Here is what I know since my last post on this:

1884 245 GL Wagon VIN: YV1AX8857E1576842
The line above the VIN is: 245 E1 576842

It is complete except for the front and rear passenger light assembelies. The seats are pretty trashed. I dont see any rust problems. Tires are gone... It has "Turbine" type alloy wheels and electric windows... The paint looks pretty good but it has a few scrapes / scratches. I can't remember, but I believe it has about 180K miles

I have no idea what is wrong with it, but it has salvage on the title. I called the NC DMV and I would have to present it before the DMV Inspector before I could register it and get tags. Salvage can never come off the title.

My idea was to try to get it for $100 - $150 delivered and use the wheels and some interrior trim pieces in my '86 240 DL wagon. Then later on use whatever I could off of it as needed for my current wagon. But several folks on the board said I should keep it intact and maybe try to get it going...

Can you guys tell me anything more from the VIN? Are the motor and tranny usable in my wagon? Is there anything special about this Volvo that would merrit trying to save it? I can't see that it is worth putting much into if the salvage cannot be removed from the title...

Anyone nearby (NC Piedmont) want to go in on it for parts?

Thanks for the help,
Will
