AC Belt replacement on 83 -240

I am trying to replace my AC belt on my 1983-240 and the manual doesn't help (Haynes manual). Someone told me it is like changing a VW belt, but that does not help me!

Also, if it breaks before I can figure out how to change it, will it hurt the motor. Obviously, I am not using the AC right now!

I looked in the FAQ section and got no help.
