Help! I Can't Get Out of Park!!! 200 1993

My 1993, automatic shift, 240 wagon will not come out of park unless I push the override button.(and yes I do put my foot on the brake while pushing the button at the top of the shifter) It was working just fine up til yesterday. Can anyone out there help me with this?
