Air Mass Meter Question 200

I was doing some regular service on my 1990 240 wagon (140K)and was wonder what kind of parts I should replace as preventative measure.

AMM ?

The Haynes book said to mearsure resistance on the the sensor, it should read about 4 ohms. My reads much higher than that but the car runs fine.
So I am not sure about this situation, should I buy a new one? (man, they are expensive!)

Do these sensors fail around here anyway? If I should change it, should I buy a rebuilt or go for the new ones?

What other parts do you recommend changing as preventative measure?
