How To Tell If Wire Harness Is Bad 200

Greetings!

How can one tell if the wire harness needs replacing? I have a great deal (or so it seems) on a 1984 DL sedan. I know this year has problems with wire harnesses, but I'm not sure how to determine if this particular car will need a new harness. Thanks in advance, guys!
