Buying a '94 940GL 900 1994

Hey,
I'm looking at buying a 1994 940GL with about 112K or so for $6K. It was a lil slow at accelerating. On the straight away, it didn't accelerate too much over 90mph. If I did buy it, is there much I can do to help these problems? besides a K&N filter? Do all 940's have the B230F engines? Thanks for any help.
