can someone please help
my engine has recently started regularly (every minute or two) cutting out momentarily usually while the engine is running below 2000 rpm. below 1000 it dies completely, knocks.and starts running in reverse!for a second or two (above 2000 it runs reasonably ok perhaps 90%perhaps a slight miss)

not much to go on im afraid other than the rev counter, normally rock steady is jittery and drops instaneusly to zero prior to the engine cutting out.sometimes it restarts sometimes it dosent!

the cars recently had a new distributer which checks ok, fitted a new coil,new plug leads,renewed the cables to the distributer.got a new ignition module but it must be the wrong one as it dosent work at all.
the car dosent seem to have anti knock sensors but has exhaust recycling rubbish
