I'm getting ready to part with my 1987 760 Turbo. It's hard to do but I'm upgrading to a newer Volvo, of course. She has 164k miles on her. About a year and half ago I had a "refurb" job done on it which costed me almost $2k. Most importantly I had the transmission fixed up. I also had the tie rods and bearings done amongst many other things. I have had regular oil changes and maintenance. The car runs great but there are problems, mostly cosmetic and electric. The top coat of paint on the hood, roof, and trunk is peeling or chipping. The power controls for the driver's seat don't work. The rear left power window doesn't work at all. The dome light is currently not working (dinging noise when you try to turn it on, same when you turn the radio OFF??). The supports that keep the trunk open aren't working anymore. The leather interior has taken little bit of a beating over the years, with cracks and rips. It's not horribly bad though, this is mostly present on the two front seats. To top off the problems, it needs a front brake job and could also be a candidate for a new set of tires. As you can see there are plenty of problems but the fact is that this car is running GREAT right now and I'm not sure how to price it and what to say to make it sell as I need some cash for a down payment.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Charles
