Repairing loose steering wheels cover.

The PO of our 95 940 must have been a tense driver, the steering wheel is worn on one side and that worn section moves forward and back. The rubber covering must have seperated underneath from the metal portion of the steering wheel. Has someone else run across this and come up with a good fix? I was considering injecting some epoxy into the inside of the cover with a hypodermic needle and then covering the worn portion of the wheel with a leather cover.
