sideview mirror no longer defrost??? 900 1995

The driver sideview mirror did not defrost today. I've never worked on it, so I'm a little in the dark on what needs replacing. I think there is a heating element...could that be the problem? What other parts could be a potential problem? Anyone else ever repair the mirror?
