I have been battling with replacing my crappy factory speakers in my 92 740TI. I originally tried a set of Power Accoustik speakers I pulled from my wrecked 240 but they are too deep. I then went to Circuit City and got a set of Bazooka El (I got 5.25 for the rear, 6.5 (is actually 5.25) front door, and I am poor so I have to wait for the 3.5 in the dash), those don't fit right either. While I was leaving I noticed a puddle of coolant under my car, the bottom radiator had burst.
Nonetheless I am pretty frustrated. I would just put the factory ones back but I drove a screwdriver through each one several times trying to free them from the rivet. If Volvo could have only made the radiator hoses out of the same material they made that rivet out of. I filled the radiator up with water and left the cap off. I then stopped to check and refill. I made it home ok.
Anyway my question is what are the likely failure points in the cooling system? When cold no coolant leaks but when hot the coolant pours out. I figure it is the bottom radiator hose since it is liquid and not steam. I will probably replace both bottom and top hoses are there any other places likely to cause such a leak? Is there anything else I should do post over heat? I will also change the oil anything else?
