I've recently purchased my first Volvo - 93 240 Wagon with 120k on the odometer. It's had good care and has been running fine for several weeks . . until this idle problem showed up. Maybe once a week, the idle will start pulsing (drops RPM then comes back up . . like the ticking of a clock) to the point that sometimes it even kills the engine. I have experienced it with the engine in Drive or Park. Just got the engine codes of 1 1 1 (although I need to find a manual to be able to interpret them - it seems that 1 1 1 would mean no problems?). The car received its 120k tune up by an experienced Volvo shop just before I took delivery about a month ago. If anyone has ideas on this one, your help would be greatly appreciated.
