windshield trim question 700 1987

Went to the FAQ and discovered that the rubber trim around my windshield (which has peeled back and been broken off so that it barely exists anymore) is attached/comes attached to the metal trim. Several questions come to mind:
-What sort of place would i go to buy the trim?
-Is it terribly difficult to remove and install?
-Also, If I were to get my windshield replaced (it's quite pitted from AZ dust storms) would the replacement people replace the trim, in other words, if i replace the trim will it be in vain because the winshield people will end up doing it anyway?
-The FAQ also said something about replacing the brittle or easily broken clips that hold the trim in; where can i get these?
