ok, I carefully read the 700 faq on this subject but am still unclear on a
few things. It doesn't say whether or not to bypass/plug the idle air control circuit when setting base idle. But I assumed you're supposed to do this or the ECU would keep adjusting the idle back to 800. Correct? Secondly, the only way I could get the idle down to the spec (480-520) was either to back off the idle screw all the way or to rotate the idle switch so it "clicked" to the "throttle open" position. I chose the latter.
With the idle switch "clicked" open, it took a few turns of the idle screw against the throttle tab to get a nice steady idle at 500. I then adusted the idle switch and reconnected the IAC. It seems to idle pretty well, but just uncertain if I used the proper method. Thanks for any thoughts.
