Electric fan conversion questions 200

Hi guys, I was planning on doing the electrical fan conversion for my 240 within the next week or so. Dave Barton's fan conversion page seems to clear up most points, but I still have a few questions some of you guys might be able to answer.

Dave talks about using the 17" fan out of the mid-80's GM vehicles. This is a puller fan, right? He also lays out the mounting pieces and process sort of vaguely. Can anyone clarify exactly what kind of mounting hardware is used and how it is attached to the fan and radiator? Finally, he says he uses the adjustable Hayden controller. I was looking at a local auto store and they had a cheaper Hayden controller that was preset at 185 degrees. I don't remember what the normal setting is, so would this do? Thanks.
