Klunking Noise; Clutch Strange 200 1984

My 245 DL wagon, non-turbo has 191k miles on it. I hear a klunking noise that seems to originate from the rear. What's going on?

Also, my clutch goes into reverse easily instead of first gear. I don't need to lift the black collar to put it into reverse. What's that about?
