Well, not really, but:
I put a later (d, right?) overdrive in my (formerly auto) '65, and the output flange on the OD is the large size.
No problem, I think, I've got a fistful of flanges from my ordeal of getting the M41 rebuilt, one of those, with a small flange, will fit.
WRONG! The splines and shaft size of the D overdrive's bigger than anything I have.
Off to the local yard, where I discover that ALL the later overdrive shafts have the large shaft, and thus the large flange. Large flange=large output shaft on the overdrive, AND larger diameter driveshaft.Phooey.
The auto cars have small flanges, tho, and smaller (my) size driveshafts.
SO: the plan is to use the BACK of one of those off a 240, which has a small tube and a large flange, and have it welded to the FRONT of my driveline, thus giving me the REVERSE of what's on an '80's 240 or similar.
Phew!
I'd love to use the later (larger diameter, larger u- joint) shaft, since I expect HP on this car to be significant, but THAT looks like a nightmare for another night...

Anyone else experience similar grief? Come up with a better solution?
