Fellow bricksters,
I did my timing belt yesterday, and found that the camshaft was actually off by one tooth to the left, around 11:45 position. Not sure why this was, I guess the last guy who did it screwed up ? Is there any reason to have retarded the cam timing like this?
My car doesn't really feel any different, if there is something it might just be a small drop in low-end torque, I guess power band was positioned low before...
Did I do the right thing by timing it according to the marks on the timing cover? I think so, but just checking...
Also, I noticed the cam would not spin freely with belt removed. Tight, then lose, then tight, etc... the crank and interm. pulley spun nicely.. Why is this?
Thanks,
