Clearing Codes 900 1995

Thanks for the help so far on fixing the SRS light. I have read the codes and get "short circuit in the wiring for the seat belt tensioner". I started to think that maybe I am not clearing the code properly which is why the light is not going out. I found the suggestion below in the FAQ. My problem is that after #3 (holding button for 20 seconds for the second time)the acknowlege light does not come on again. Could I be doing something wrong. This would be a much easier solution than trying to find the short in the wiring.

FROM THE FAQ
"Hi Folks;
The published times to hold the button push for code clearing are somewhat in error. Note also: "DTC's can be erased only when all have been displayed and the first DTC has been repeated at least once."
This works most of the time for me; sometimes I have to do it twice.
1. Push and hold the test button for 20 seconds and release.

2. About 5 seconds after release an acknowledging light will come on.

3. While the light is still on, press and hold the test button for 20 seconds and release.

4. The acknowledge light will come on again. Wait 2 or 3 seconds.

5. Press test button for 1 second and release.

6. If you were successful you will get the 1-1-1 code.

7. Turn the ignition off.

8. Start engine; MIL should be off.
This is my slight modification of the procedure on page 52 of TP 2301202.
